A Foil Assist is an electric motor that motorizes a foil without a motor. The aim is not to build an eFoil with it, but to be supported when prone or pump foiling.
Complete kits including board, mast, wing and motor are around EUR 16,000. A motor kit for use on your own equipment costs between EUR 4,000 and 6,000.
A Foil Assist is a motor on a foil board that provides short-term assistance when accelerating. It is powered by a lithium-ion battery. You accelerate with a remote control in your hand.
An eFoil is constantly powered by a motor. A Foil Assist only provides brief support for a foil board, which is then ridden without motor power.
Depending on the model, the range is between 20 and 40 minutes.
The Foil Assist helps you to start foiling when there is not enough wind.
